Success on the Trail

The Coyotes showed well at two different races this weekend.

Saturday – Skirts in the Dirt

On Saturday, Coyotes Anabel Miller, Addison Forrester and Olivia Miller competed in the 6th annual Skirts in the Dirt, an all-woman race, put on as a fundraiser for the West Michigan Mountain Bike Alliance. In the “Dirt Diva” expert/open race, Anabel placed 4th and Addison 11th. In the “Squirts in the Dirt” 12-and-under race, Olivia took 11th.

Sunday – Glacial Hills MMBA CPS

On Sunday, Easton Foster and Haydon Frehr raced at the Glacial Hills MMBA CPS XC race, their final race in this series prior to the MiSCA season kickoff at Addison Oaks next week. Easton secured a state championship with his first-place finish (CONGRATS, Easton!) and Haydon took 4th place to conclude his CPS season as a strong contender in the 14-and-under division.

Up Next

The Coyotes now enter their MiSCA race season with the 6 race series taking place over the next 9 weeks.

This year: A Trailer!

This is a special post to show off our new trailer!

Thanks to Jason Ryan, a Coyote parent, a State Farm Agent, and a generous sponsor of the Coyotes.  He graciously purchased a trailer for our team this year.

We’re working on getting graphics done, and racks installed. In fact, here’s an action shot of the trailer at Rolling Grey (Brett Kincaid’s design studio) getting outfitted (by Freida!) with some seriously awesome racking mechanisms. Thanks to Brett for design and his entire family for the build-out. That’s some serious manual labor and creative design work on behalf of the program!

It’s going to be a great season, and now we have a way to haul our stuff. MANY thanks to you both for what you’ve done to get us off on the right foot this year!

Coyotes Howl at Big M

Several West Michigan Coyotes had a great showing at the Big M Challenge XC race this past weekend. The race featured a hilly, difficult 16.5-mile loop, that gave away “no free trail.” In addition, this race put several of our racers into a strong position to win their respective Michigan Mountain Bike Association Championship Point Series age groups.

Sport Men 15-18 – Luke Zuelke, 1st place

Sport Women 11-14 – Raven Kincaid 1st, Madine Whitmer 2nd

Madine and Raven, grab the top two spots for Sport Women.

Sport Men 11-14 – Easton Foster 1st, Haydon Frehr 4th

Finally, Coaches Zuelke, Frehr and Kincaid all raced in various old-men’s divisions. Coach Miller, who is writing this article, is just as old as them, so don’t think he’s making fun of their age. No way. He would never do that.

Pontiac Lake Challenge XC

Congrats to the Coyotes’ own Easton Foster for his 3rd place finish at the Pontiac Lake Challenge this past weekend. He was the lone Coyote at the race, and he snagged a well-earned podium finish.

As always, we’d like to thank the sponsors that make the Coyotes a reality:
